balanceEnergy Medicine is a broad term encompassing a variety of energy healing modalities such as Acupuncture, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Qi Gong, Meditation and Yoga. Regardless of modality, all practices use the breath as a primary tool for healing. Major medical centers are now offering energy medicine services . . . because it works.

One way energy medicine works is by unblocking and rebalancing subtle energies centers in the body, by way of the breath. The energy centers are the secret pathway to self-healing because they are connected to every aspect of our being—mind, body, and spirit—as described in my book, The Eight Aspects of God: A Pathway to Bliss. These eight aspects, as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda, are: peace, wisdom, power, love, calmness, light, sound, and bliss. Learning a few simple breathing techniques to maintain these aspects is easy to do and accessible to everyone. No exceptions.

In 2005, I turned to energy medicine for my own healing and opened my practice, Seattle Energy Medicine, within a few years. As I gradually transitioned out of my engineering job, I completed two mentoring programs while also earning meditation and yoga teaching certifications. As a writer, I have developed a unique offering for my clients that integrates writing and breathwork.
