What is Functional Breathing?
Functional breathing simply means to breathe correctly. Breathing correctly helps us discover deeper healing and a sense of peace and wellness.
You can use your breath while just sitting still or you can awaken energy flow through more dynamic movements. Paramhansa Yogananda, the great yogi from the 1920s, said that yoga and meditation help us to be actively calm, while calmly active. This *duality* is possible using proper breathing.
My specialty is teaching people how to use their breath to foster relaxation, manage stress and pain and speed up the healing process. Using easy-to-learn breathing techniques you can lower blood pressure, increase blood flow and oxygen and bring a sense of ease and peace throughout your body.
I specialize in working with people who have special needs due to disability or trauma or in need of stress and pain management due to illness, surgery or heartache. I offer help before medical procedures to help reduce anxiety and afterwards to help speed up the recovery period.
With correct breathing patterns, you can achieve calm, ease and confidence even during the most trying times. Your breath is your superpower! So long as you can breathe you have a tool to help yourself.
