Reducing Stress Through Meditation
Stress, in and of itself, is not a bad thing. We need a little tension to keep us alert, focused, and productive. This is especially true in the workplace. Without the tension of a deadline or a challenging project in front of us, our mind and thinking can become dull.
Sometimes, though, the extra stress can get the best of us. Having a few tools to manage our reactions to stress is how we prevent it from becoming a chronic, never-ending, condition which can make us sick.
Meditation—which can include breathwork, being still, gentle movement and mental imagery—has helped me reduce stress and survive bouts of anxiety, nervousness, and even anger. If not dealt with, these negative energies can become toxic and all-consuming. But, if I turn to my meditation practice, I can get through the rough spots without too much damage, and oftentimes even find a bit of personal growth.

Having A Daily Practice
The more consistent your meditation practice, the more centered and calm you become in the midst of unexpected stressful moments.
As a certified meditation and (Hatha) yoga teacher I have an appreciation and understanding of how proper breathing calms the nervous system and brings an overall sense of wellbeing. When the nervous system is still, the mind is still. When the mind is still, the body is more relaxed and has more bandwidth to heal.
Meditation is not a one-size (style) fits all; rather, your practice must be one that supports your
individual way of being.
I am here to share what I’ve learned and help design a practice that best serves you.
